"Life shrinks or expands according to one's courage" Anais Nin
Join Samantha Shakti in a 3 hour Anusara Yoga Mini-Immersion designed to expand your courage and inspire your practice to levels beyond your wildest dreams. The day will be dedicated to understanding the foundations of the Universal Principals of Alignment and how they apply to standing poses, back bends, hip-openers and arm balances.
Samantha will be accompanied by stand up bass virtuoso, Garth Stevenson from Brooklyn, NY. Together Samantha and Garth will weave together a class that will enliven your mind, body and spirit with courage and grace.
Anusara means "flowing with Grace", or "following in the wake of your heart's truth".
Anusara is heart oriented, inspiring Hatha Yoga practice that is rooted in Universal Principles of Alignment. The Universal Principals of Alignment are a tangible formula combining the artistry of human expression blended with the scientific principles of biomechanics to support your embodied freedom. Body, mind and spirit powerfully unite in this unique, challenging and deeply therapeutic style of yoga.
The name Anusara is derived from a verse in the Kularnava Tantra (1000 C.E). In the the language of yoga, Sanskrit, it reads "Shakti-nipata-anusarena sishyo'anugraham-arhati". Translated this means, by stepping into the current of Divine Grace's descent into the heart, the true seeker is embraced by the grace that sustains and nurtures all of life.
This is a mixed levels workshop open to all students without serious injury. If you are not sure if it is right for you please contact Sam at samanthashakti@gmail.com
Need based scholarships available. Please contact Samantha directly to inquire.
